Security Industry has been recently regulated by the Govt. vide PSAR Act 2005 which is under process of enforcement by various state Governments. There are more than 3000 security companies (as per the Police records) functioning in the capital only, majority of whom form part of unorganized sector. Total strength of private guarding force deployed in Delhi is approx. between 1.5 to 2 Lacs.
The nos of private security staff in Delhi is almost three times the size of police force. Private security has become an important part of society as the Police. But these two segments of security are not having and cohesion which can be very beneficial for both the organizations. |
