	Vibha Ravee graduated from the Delhi University, did her Post Graduation in Journalism and Political Science and entered into the wide field of education after qualifying as Bachelor of Eucation. Vibha is a rich blend of experience related to Security Education, Public Relations, effective handling of manpower and administration. 	"A warm welcome to," the first and the only Specialized Security Institute of India. OSSIM has endeavored a step towards understanding the need of specialized Security Education and to create a ‘Security- Conscious’ environment. It is heartening to note that big industrial houses like TATAS, Vedanta, Reliance, DLF, Mahindras & many more have started taking security seriously. Although it is sad that in India, we always have first experience every time yet we suffer the bad consequences, we just react for a while and then forget the unhappy occurrences. The series of terrorist attacks in Mumbai, Jaipur & Delhi have however shaker us up from deep slumber.Agreed that security in India has been a subject of deep concern for the center as well as the states. Interestingly, the concept of Pvt. Security has for long been pushed under the carpet of ‘Administration’ and never been accorded the required and desired attention. It is seen that for years Pvt. Security could not lone further than the backyard guarding. In any company’s Agenda, Pvt. Security has been in the last in the priority list last to be paid resulting last to be opted by youth as a career. And thus, we get the least in the bargain. It is aptly said, “If you offer nuts, You will get monkeys.” After the 9/11 attacks in US, there has been a paradigm shift in threat perception by corporate worldwide. In some of the advanced countries Pvt. Security Companies have virtually become a part of the Army to protect & secure the people of the country. It is advisable for the industries, big houses as well as corporate to assess the estimated cost of such attacks & not just in Monetary terms Taj may recover but what about other smaller establishment. This is the time that Indians start investing in a “near fullproof” Security Programme designed by experts and professionals for this we have to understand the need for making Security as an independent subject. Value the trained professionals in the field of Pvt. Security and keep them at the par with any other profession. All this parallel to the national Security jobs. The balance between demand and Supply has to be maintained. The demand for Pvt. Security professionals is already created and is ready to meet the demand of energetic efficient and well-trained security professionals with it SUPPLY. I am proud to be part of the the first Institute in India taking the plunge in providing in providing professional Education and training in the field of Internal Security & Intelligence. The decision is careful to take the challenge of the vast complexity of Security Scenario today with the guidance of the experts sensitive towards this need and who dare to take the change with a ‘must-do’ approach. It is now, we can say that India has come of age in Education. When I was at your age, I had to think about which time was good or not so good to take up.
